I started painting again in January '03 after several years of taking photographs for large prints and greetings cards.

Using photographic images as a starting point for my canvases - I zoom in on the small details of an image - transposing it into an explosion of abstract colour and depth. I am interested in our concept of scale and perspective. Looking at minute details in nature, I transform them into something quite different. My aim is to create images that work as an antidote for a world that increasingly distances itself from the essence of nature.
